New Year’s Day is right around the corner and we hope to see you there. \nAll proceeds from this event benefit El Paso County Search and Rescue. EPCSAR is a mountain search and rescue team dedicated to saving lives through search\, rescue\, and mountain safety education. \nAs a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization\, the team depends upon contributions from individuals\, groups\, firms\, and agencies interested in supporting its work. EPCSAR does not receive regular funding from local\, state\, or federal governments\, and is staffed 100% by non-paid professionals that respond 24 hours a day\, 7 days a week\, every day of the year. There is never a charge for services. \n5K and 10K start together at 10:00 am January 1. \nREGISTRATION OPENING SOON!

New Year’s Day is right around the corner and we hope to see you there. \nAll proceeds from this event benefit El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPCSAR). After many wonderful years at Palmer Park\, we are returning back to our roots! But rather than run on the streets\, as we did then\, we will be running on the trails of Bear Creek Park East. We are excited to be back with a new course to welcome in the New Year for our 45th time! \nThese items of interest were new last year and are returning for this year’s race: \nNEW LAST YEAR: Start/Finish location change to: Norris-Penrose Events Center\, 1045 Lower Gold Camp Rd\, Colorado Springs\, CO 80905\nNEW LAST YEAR: 5K and 10K start together at 10:00am. Responding to calls for those who are lost\, injured\, or ill on a trail or in the forest\, stranded\, lost\, or experiencing a medical emergency during a blizzard\, any time of day or night\, these dedicated volunteers stand ready to respond\, 24/7/365. All members purchase their own equipment and contribute hundreds of volunteer hours to the community. \nEPCSAR never charges for its services. \nDonations made during race registration will NOT be charged a processing fee. \nRACE FEES / SCHEDULE / IMPORTANT INFORMATION\nRegister online until Dec 31. This is especially important on our 10K course as a portion of this course is on private property with the agreement from the landowner that we will not allow dogs. In order to secure the future use of the property\, if you attempt to run the 10K with a dog\, you will be stopped during the race. \nTrail Etiquette: No litter / No cutting corners / No off-trail travel. Any activities of this nature may result in disqualification. Please understand our stance on this in order to continue conducting this race on a mixture of private and public lands. \nChange in COVID protocol: We will follow\, and may implement\, changes in our COVID protocols\, up to and including cancelling in-person events.
